What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a web feed used to publish frequently updated material such as web logs and news. It allows you to keep up to date with websites and services that you enjoy by notifying you of new material.

By combining several feeds together in a feed reader you can receive updates from all your favourite feeds in one place. This allows you to easily identify the stories that appeal to you.

A feed reader is an application that downloads, maintains and updates web feeds such as RSS. A feed reader allows you to receive updates about your favourite websites and services in one place.
